# Instruments

> Infrasound sensors deployed across the AVERT network

Infrasound sensors are deployed at AVERT stations co-located with other instruments such as seismometers and weather stations. They are powered by solar systems with battery backup and telemeter data in near real time.

    A pre-existing infrasound sensor at OKIF complements seismic monitoring by detecting explosive activity within the caldera. This station is part of the AVO network.

  <Accordion title="Cleveland">
    A pre-existing 5-instrument infrasound array at CLCO on Chuginadak Island, along with a single infrasound sensor at CLES, detects the frequent explosions characteristic of this open-vent volcano. Both stations are part of the AVO network.

    New infrasound arrays were installed at VPCR (crater rim) and VPEM (south of the crater) during the 2024 and 2025 AVERT-OVSICORI field workshops. These arrays capture acoustic signals from the phreatomagmatic explosions and degassing events at the crater lake.
