Station Information

Location: North-eastern flank of Cleveland volcano, Alaska Installation Date: September 2022 (AVERT project) Instrumentation:
  • Calibir GXM 640 camera (Teledyne DALSA)
  • GigE Vision interface for input/output
  • Array of lenses with variable fields-of-view
  • Non-radiometric camera providing 640-by-480 pixels resolution
  • Germanium window mounted in 3-D printed part for weather-seal
Data Collection:
  • 3 images spaced 1 second apart, every 20 minutes
  • Monitors extent of volcanic plume (fresh gases are warmer than surrounding atmosphere)
  • Operates equally well at night and during day
