The four panels show the X, Y, and Z vector components and the absolute field intensity, all in microtesla (µT). Grey lines show raw 1-minute means; the overlaid colored lines show 1-day rolling averages computed from the 1 Hz record.

Location: North Crater, Volcán Poás, Costa Rica Network: OV (Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica) Instrument: Fluxgate magnetometer (channels LFE, LFN, LFZ — 1 Hz sample rate) Data Collection:
  • Three-component vector magnetic field (East, North, Vertical)
  • Total field intensity derived from vector sum: √(E² + N² + Z²)
  • Raw counts converted to µT using IRIS digitizer convention
  • Expected total field intensity at Poás latitude: ~30–35 µT

  • Archive begins mid-2023; continuous daily record from January 2024 onwards
