Location: North-eastern flank of Cleveland volcano, Alaska Installation Date: September 2022 (AVERT project) Instrumentation:
  • Custom-fabricated, plywood-reinforced fiberglass enclosure (hut)
  • 24-30 12 V absorbed glass mat (AGM) Pb-acid batteries (100 Ah each)
  • Total capacity: 2400-3000 Ah
  • Three 90 W solar panels
  • 50 W wind generator
  • Morningstar SunSaver MPPT-15 and SunSaver 10-L charge controllers
  • TriStar MPPT wind-solar controller
Data Collection:
  • Battery voltage monitoring (proxy for state of charge)
  • Solar array input voltage
  • Load current measurements
  • Ambient temperature inside hut
  • Power system performance tracking

  • Power system status data available through AVERT monitoring systems
