Station Information

Location: North-eastern flank of Cleveland volcano, Alaska Installation Date: September 2022 (AVERT project) Instrumentation:
  • NOVAC scanning DOAS with motorised sensor head and UV-sensitive spectrometer
Data Collection:
  • Continuous SO₂ monitoring during daytime hours
  • Scans at multiple elevation angles to create spectral transects through the plume
  • First of two scanning DOAS at Cleveland, marking the first continuous SO₂ monitoring in the Aleutians
